   Low light Photography does not necessarily mean taking photographs at night in the dark. 'Low Light' generally refers to a location where there is very little or no natural light but can be illuminated by artificial light as inside a room or building or outside before sunrise or after sunset or with street or floodlighting.


 I started low light photography inside rather dark museums with the camera on a tripod using a remote shutter release, low ISO and long shutter speeds.

With the advancement of digital sensor technology, like the Sony back-illuminated CMOS sensor which increases the amount of light  the sensor can capture therefore improving low-light performance and new in-camera processing software, I can now hand hold and use a high ISO to achieve the same quality of image as I did with the camera on a tripod and with the silent shutter turned on
